Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Sr. Director of Navigation to lead software and systems for intra-operative navigation, including localization, registration, sensor fusion, and orchestration across embedded, edge, and cloud platforms.

You will partner with robotics, clinical, and regulatory teams to deliver deterministic, clinician-grade navigation. The role demands 10+ years in SW/systems with 5+ years in navigation/perception, strong C/C++, Python, and real-time middleware, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years SW/systems experience; 5+ years in navigation/perception; production nav software experience.
• Experience shipping navigation or perception software in regulated contexts.
• IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971 software design controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year navigation SW & systems roadmap; drive delivery to milestones.
• Architect real-time navigation stacks; partition deterministic control loops.
• Lead SW, algorithm and AI teams to productionize perception pipelines.
• Build and operate simulation/digital-twin and synthetic data pipelines.
• Define software lifecycle, CI/CD for embedded + cloud, automated tests.
• Establish verification strategies for accuracy, latency, availability.
• Integrate MLOps for model training and deployment controls.
• Collaborate with QA/RA to provide software evidence and regulatory inputs.
• Partner with external tech suppliers and co-development partners.
