Job summary

Aerospace-Industries-Association in Arlington, VA seeks a Senior Director, Procurement Policy to support the VP for National Security Policy on defense procurement policy, including DFARS, contract management, commercial items, and pricing policy matters.

The incumbent represents AIA to members, the Pentagon, executive agencies, and Congress, and leads councils and working groups to monitor, analyze, advocate for legislation and regulations affecting defense procurement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in the Department of War, the U.S. Congress, a defense supplier, or a relevant trade association.
• Must be a known and respected practitioner in the defense acquisition community.
• Strong writing, research, and public speaking skills; ability to build consensus.

Responsibilities

• Represent AIA to the federal contracting community and other stakeholders.
• Lead input to, comments on, and communications regarding defense procurement policy matters.
• Coordinate activities of acquisition-focused councils and working groups.
• Prepare summaries, testimony, and background materials for meetings and public communications.
• Oversee meetings and events planning for councils and committees.
