Job summary

STR is seeking a highly motivated Senior Procurement Administrator with federal procurement experience to join our Contracts & Supply Chain team in Woburn, MA.

You will oversee defense and government program procurement, mentor staff, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS. The role requires strong negotiations, supplier management, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years federal procurement experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US citizenship required).
• Experience in negotiations and supplier management.
• Experience with FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations.
• Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls and counterfeit parts prevention.
• Collaborative, self-motivated, with strong business judgment and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with customers, partners, and colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategic procurement operations across defense and government programs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on complex DoD and Intelligence Community supply chain matters.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Drive process excellence and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
• Help shape STR’s procurement strategy and deliver measurable results in cost, schedule, and performance.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle from planning through closeout per FAR/DFARS.
• Develop and maintain external relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct market research, supplier qualification, source selection, and cost/price evaluations.
• Utilize purchasing and ERP systems to create and manage purchase orders and ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate and complete procurement files in compliance with FAR/DFARS.
