Position Summary

Walmart Connect is seeking a Senior Director-level executive to oversee a distinct function responsible for short- and long-term strategies specific to Walmart Connect: Yield Strategy & Management. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of analytics and data science professionals, bringing analytical rigor to solve complex business challenges and drive revenue maximization. You will collaborate cross-functionally with senior leaders from Product, Business Operations, Strategy, Sales, Operations & Client Services, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to create strategic opportunities that optimize advertiser and business returns. The ideal candidate will set a vision and realize it through strategic and operational excellence.

You will establish pricing strategies, including floor prices, dynamic pricing models, and package deals to maximize revenue while maintaining market competitiveness. You will manage the optimization of advertising revenue across all Walmart Connect’s omni-channel advertising products, including search, display, in-store, offsite, and CTV, by matching supply with demand and developing yield management strategies to maximize profitability. Deep data knowledge, understanding of market dynamics, and experience with pricing and inventory management are essential. You will interact with Walmart Connect and Walmart Enterprise executives to support decision-making and establish best practices. The role requires strong technical and business acumen, problem-solving skills, leadership, and creativity.

What You'll Do
  • Develop vision, strategy, and operational plans for Yield Strategy & Management.
  • Lead and mentor a talented team through transformation; build career paths and define processes to integrate analytics into business operations.
  • Ensure revenue maximization through pricing development, inventory management, and monetization analyses.
  • Create and evaluate yield management strategies and pricing models.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to inform strategies.
  • Monitor and adjust pricing based on real-time data and demand patterns.
  • Understand inventory value and market positioning.
  • Develop forecasting models for supply and revenue prediction.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities through data and audience insights.
  • Improve monetization by exploring pricing, packaging, and revenue strategies.
  • Create custom solutions in partnership with Sales for new revenue streams.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies related to pricing and revenue, including exception handling.
  • Report on revenue performance and market trends to executives.
  • Collaborate with Product and Strategy teams on market trends and opportunities.
  • Design and execute benefits and incentives for annual agreements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on system integrations and monetization opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Define and evangelize metrics to measure team performance.
  • Support professional development for team members.
Experience You Bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's degree; graduate degree preferred.
  • 15+ years in Finance, Ad Sales, Digital Media Operations, or Retail.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience.
  • Data-driven decision-making expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to execute and measure results amidst ambiguity.
  • Experience managing organizational change.
  • Proven success leading high-performance, distributed teams.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to optimize tools and data access.

Additional Details

Salary range varies by location, e.g., Hoboken, NJ: $192,000–$384,000; San Bruno, CA: $208,000–$416,000. Additional compensation may include performance bonuses and stock options.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor’s in related field + 7 years’ analytics experience. Option 2: Master’s + 5 years’ experience. Option 3: 9 years’ related experience. 3+ years supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD preferred. Skills in Python, Spark, Scala, R, open-source frameworks, and digital accessibility standards are a plus. Demonstrated ability to create inclusive digital experiences is valued.
