Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Data Platform Architect to lead the strategy and execution of data migrations, integrations, and conversions across product lines. You will replace ad hoc approaches with reusable frameworks, connector tooling, and scalable platforms, guiding engineering and solution-architecture teams.

You will partner with Product to embed migration capabilities in new solutions, establish governance, and ensure data quality and security across high-sensitivity public safety data

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading data engineering, integration, or migration teams
• 5+ years in hands-on architecture, systems, programming, and/or build capacity
• Experience designing and building data migration/conversion platforms at scale, not just running projects
• Deep fluency in ETL/ELT design, data modeling, schema mapping, and data quality frameworks
• Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted data mapping to accelerate conversion work
• Direct experience with enterprise data integration platforms (e.g., Informatica, MuleSoft, Fivetran, Snowflake, Databricks)
• Strong SQL and data pipeline scripting (Python)
• Experience decommissioning legacy systems with minimal downtime

Responsibilities

• Define and own migration/integration architecture across product lines
• Lead engineering teams to build reusable migration frameworks and tooling
• Partner with product to design scalable migration platforms and data governance
• Set data standards for mapping, validation, and interoperability
• Drive KPIs for velocity, quality, and time-to-go-live
• Mentor data engineers and solution architects, building a product-minded discipline
