Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Sr Director, Data Management to lead data governance strategies, policies and standards across the organization. You will supervise a team of data professionals and partner with business units to promote data accuracy and trust.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and expertise in ETL, metadata, and data cataloging, with a focus on delivering reliable data assets and insights for critical business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or six years of relevant data and analytics, and/or data management experience.
• Experience with ETL/data integration tools and cloud technologies.
• Strong communication to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data availability, usability, integrity, security and privacy.
• Oversee design and implementation of governance practices.
• Develop remediation plans to assure data quality.
• Consult with leadership to prioritize data quality requirements.
• Ensure naming definitions and standards are followed.
• Provide vision for metadata repositories, data catalog, lineage capabilities.
• Lead root-cause analysis of data issues and implement changes.
• Create strategic frameworks for data solutions.
• Design processes to capture knowledge and maintain relevance.
• Articulate guiding principles aligned with the strategic vision.
• Oversee taxonomies and governance of content/data.
• Manage resources across projects and initiatives.
• Coach team members on data profiling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
