Job summary

Nscale is hiring a Senior Director, System Engineering & Intelligence to unify data centre systems and data into a trustworthy, self-aware estate. You will own the digital thread from procurement to maintenance, shaping telemetry, analytics, and governance to enable autonomous operations across global sites.

You will lead cross-functional teams, define multi-year roadmaps, and drive data-quality and security standards while delivering measurable improvements in reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience across engineering, asset management, enterprise systems, or industrial analytics.
• 7+ years leading cross-functional programmes at director level or above.
• Ownership of a CMMS/EAM platform at scale (e.g. Maximo, SAP PM, Infor, Nuvolo).
• Proven delivery of analytics or ML on physical infrastructure (data centres, energy, utilities, heavy industry, or similar).
• Experience taking models into control or decision loops with safety, validation, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and investment: define a costed, multi-year roadmap across CMMS/EAM, PIM/PLM, integration, telemetry, and data platform.
• Own the asset master and governance; establish canonical identity for every asset and one system of record.
• Lead cleansing and validation-at-source programmes to replace spreadsheets with governed data.
• Build the telemetry foundation: unified asset/topology model with OT/IT ingest and security segmentation.
• Publish data-quality scores and define shared definitions for KPUs like PUE, WUE, capacity.
• Own CMMS/EAM configuration baseline, SOP/MOP/EOP libraries, and spares and warranties.
• Map condition data to assets for predictive maintenance and work orders.
• Advance NOS intelligence toward autonomy: anomaly detection, remaining-useful-life, and thermal/power optimisation.
• Progress control loops from shadow to bounded-autonomous stages with safety envelopes.
• Assure site readiness: turn commissioning into data with acceptance gates per hall/site.
• Benchmark readiness to prevent defects in future builds.
• Act as senior escalation point across multiple functions and enforce data deliverables.
• Build and develop a high-performing team spanning lifecycle engineering, data science, and data engineering.
