Job summary

Optum is seeking a senior data architecture leader to translate validated strategies into enterprise patterns, data contracts, governance models, and technology roadmaps that enable trusted, secure, and responsible use of data and AI at scale.

You will collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, and business leaders to translate architectural strategies into enterprise-wide patterns and roadmaps, driving multi-team adoption and governance.

Qualifications

15+ years in data architecture or related technical disciplines.
10+ years defining enterprise-scale data architecture strategies.
7+ years in senior architecture or technical leadership roles.
3+ years designing Generative AI and LLM-powered solutions.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve target-state data architecture vision with a clear path to future state.
Build pilots and proofs-of-concept to validate architectural recommendations.
Design semantic layers, ontologies, and knowledge systems for humans and AI.
Evaluate AI trends (RAG, vector systems) to inform strategy and investments.
Author reference architectures and data contracts for widespread adoption.
Establish governance, privacy, and AI safety frameworks.
Drive architectural alignment across large engineering groups via influence and proof points.
Collaborate with security, legal, compliance, and infra to shape platform investments.
