Job summary

Magnit is seeking a Senior Director, Cloud Platforms to lead the migration from on‑prem to the public cloud and architect Magnit's internal platform used by engineering teams. You will set strategy and work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with engineers on the code, pipelines, and Kubernetes manifests.

You will own the data center exit roadmap, AWS‑first landing zones, and a GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, Terraform‑driven platform that makes secure, scalable software development easy and efficient.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale cloud migrations or data center exits.
• Proven experience building or operating an internal developer platform at scale.
• Hands-on ability with Terraform, pipelines, and Kubernetes manifests.
• Strong communication with executive audiences and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with AWS-first and multi-cloud strategies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end on-premises to public cloud migration roadmap with milestones and metrics.
• Lead portfolio assessment and disposition (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, retain).
• Design secure, multi-account cloud foundations (landing zones, identity, networking, compute, storage, Kubernetes).
• Act as integration layer across Infra, Security, Data, and Operations to de-risk migrations.
• Run cloud platform as a product with internal customers (engineering teams).
• Deliver golden paths for service creation, CI/CD, secrets, observability, and security.
• Own GitLab-based source control and CI/CD standards, Kubernetes manifests, and GitOps via Argo CD.
• Drive infrastructure as code and policy as code to reduce drift and manual config.
• Advance containerized microservices and serverless patterns on AWS (EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager).
• Measure developer experience using DORA metrics and adoption metrics.
• Partner with enterprise workflow to automate processes with software-defined workflows.
