Workday is seeking a Senior Director, Database Engineering & Public Cloud Migration, to lead two portfolios and shape the strategic direction for database reliability and cloud migrations.

You will partner with Product, Cloud Operations, Security, and Customer Support to set priorities, deliver multi-cloud migration platforms, and drive operational excellence across a global enterprise. Strong executive leadership and a track record of delivering complex programs are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in database engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years leading and developing senior managers/directors.
• 10+ years building high-performing technical teams.
• Experience leading large-scale database engineering, cloud platform, infrastructure reliability, or public-cloud migration orgs.
• Experience with multi-cloud architectures (AWS/GCP) and migrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional collaboration.

• Set strategy for Database Engineering and Public Cloud Migration.
• Lead two portfolios with clear roadmaps and governance.
• Develop organizational goals, investment priorities, and delivery commitments.
