TheSenior Director, Capital Project Oversight will play an important role in the overall success of our investment management platform and be responsible for capital projects across the Select Service portfolio. The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills. They will have a strong understanding of the importance of Capital Project execution as contemplated in the Business Plan to asset performance, in the context of Fund structures and multiple funding sources. The Vice President, Capital Project Oversight will report directly to the Chief Development Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Select Service Capital Projects Gatekeeper
  • Project Oversight, including Budget & Schedule Responsibility
  • Manager of, and central point of contact for, third-party Owner’s Representative firms
  • Project Funding Review, Management, Monitoring and Forecasting
  • Internal Liaison, serving as connector between internal MCR Resources and third-party Capital Project vendors and service providers

Qualifications:

  • 5 – 7 years professional experience in a Project Management function
  • A strong understanding of Project Accounting, including Project Uses and Sources, and experience coordinating with lenders
  • Ability to manage projects and third parties within a defined process and structure, enabling consistency in project execution, reporting, and outcome at the portfolio level
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple projects, ranging in scale and complexity.
  • Possess advanced verbal & written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and influence others, negotiate, and demonstrate sound business judgement.
  • Possess a positive attitude, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and strong organization and presentation skills.
  • Construction and capital work knowledgebase a plus, although not required.

Physical Working Demands & Working Environment: To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively using the English Language. The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer. Office Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. (Phone ringing, and intermittent communication between co-workers). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods (3-4 hours at a time). The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing, or controls. Must be able to talk and hear.
