Job summary

Camp Sabra is seeking a Senior Assistant Director for Retention, Recruitment, and Camper Experience to lead camper care, enrollment efforts, and family relations. The role reports to the Senior Camp Director and oversees PRR, CCT, and a PT Summer Admin position.

You will build a culture reflecting our Jewish values, set clear standards for staff performance, and drive continuous improvement in the camper experience through coaching, training, and hands-on leadership on site at camp.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in related field is required.
• 3+ years of experience in residential camping, youth development, education, community programming, or a comparable environment.
• Must be able to travel throughout the year and reside at camp during the summer season.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. Training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, guidance, and leadership for the Assistant Directors of PRR and CCT and the staff in those departments.
• Set clear expectations for staff conduct, professionalism, performance, and camper care.
• Coach and develop staff through observation, feedback, recognition, and accountability.
• Ensure staff receive the training, direction, and support necessary to succeed.
• Address performance concerns promptly and partner with supervisors on improvement strategies.
• Foster a staff culture of teamwork, ownership, enthusiasm, professionalism, and excellence.
• Champion Camp Sabra’s traditions, culture, history, and Jewish identity.
• Translate Camp Sabra’s vision and values into clear expectations and observable behaviors.
• Identify priorities, challenges, and opportunities for improvement and drive solutions.
