Trading Technologies is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development for our Compliance & Trade Surveillance business line. This is a highly visible, senior role that sits at the intersection of sales, product, and customer support — acting as the connective tissue that aligns those functions around a single commercial strategy. Reporting into TT’s Head of Business Development, this individual will lead pre-sale strategy and sales execution alongside our regional sales teams, and will serve as a subject matter expert on capital markets regulation and trade surveillance. The successful candidate will represent Trading Technologies at industry conferences, drive our thought leadership agenda, and help shape the commercial processes that will scale this business line.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Pre-Sale Strategy
  • Lead pre-sale strategy and execution for Compliance & Trade Surveillance opportunities in close partnership with regional sales teams
  • Participate as a key member of deal teams, providing regulatory and product expertise in prospect meetings, discovery sessions, and complex RFPs
  • Build and deliver client-specific demonstrations, presentations, and proposals in conjunction with sales
  • Coach and enable sales teams on capital markets regulation, trade surveillance use cases, and competitive positioning
Subject Matter Expertise & Thought Leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on capital markets regulation and trade surveillance
  • Represent Trading Technologies at industry conferences, panels, and networking events
  • Develop and execute the business line’s thought leadership agenda (whitepapers, blogs, webinars) in partnership with marketing
  • Track evolving regulatory requirements (e.g., MiFID II, MAR, Dodd-Frank) and translate the implications for clients, prospects, and internal teams
Product & Customer Feedback Loop
  • Act as the connective tissue between the sales, product management, implementation and customer support teams
  • Participate in the feedback process and strategic sessions that run between customer support and product management
  • Provide market and client input into the product roadmap and prioritization process
  • Partner with product management on go-to-market plans for new features and releases
Commercial Strategy & Process
  • Help develop and drive commercial processes for the Compliance & Trade Surveillance business line
  • Support pricing, packaging, and deal structuring guidance in partnership with sales leadership
  • Contribute to annual and quarterly forecasting, planning, and pipeline reviews
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, engineering, and marketing to ensure alignment on client commitments
  • Report on pipeline, sales support activity, and market insights to senior leadership
  • Build and maintain a network of legal and compliance professionals across the financial services industry
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in capital markets, with deep expertise in trade surveillance and/or capital markets regulation (e.g., market abuse, MAR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank)
  • Proven track record in business development, pre-sales, or sales within financial technology, ideally supporting complex compliance or surveillance platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a subject matter expert and represent an organization externally, including at conferences, on panels, and through thought leadership
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience bridging sales, product, and customer-facing teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical and regulatory concepts for varied audiences
  • An existing network of legal, compliance, and trading professionals within the financial services industry
  • Self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Direct experience working within a regulator, exchange, or a sell-side/buy-side compliance or surveillance function
  • Hands-on experience with the TT platform or similar trade surveillance, OMS, or EMS platforms
  • An existing public profile as a speaker, author, or panelist on capital markets compliance and surveillance topics
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, or similar sales and product tools
