Senior Director, Brand & And Communications Strategy (External)

Location: New York City

Hybrid: in office three days/week

Role Overview:

You will be at the forefront of Storyful’s strategy expansion, blending deep expertise in data and insights with strategic brand communications experience. This role will be pivotal in supporting our new client growth efforts by directly influencing how we deliver data-driven strategies and building our reputation as a strategic partner to brands.

You will use your deep expertise in brands and communications strategies and research modalities to revolutionize Storyful’s foundational Intelligence offering into a holistic brand strategy offering, shaping client branding, messaging, and media presence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. New Business: Drive new client growth by developing strategic insights and persuasive client communications strategies.

  2. Brand & Communications Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Storyful Intelligence team to create and implement data-driven communications strategies, including positioning, messaging, risk mitigation, and thought leadership.

  3. Client Relationship Conversion: Tap into existing clients and prospects in client organizations to serve as a trusted advisor who can combine insights with creative brand strategy to drive success.

  4. Strategic Storytelling: Deliver rich, innovative strategy presentations, leveraging deep experience in corporate and technology for audience analysis, competitor research, sentiment tracking, and market trend forecasting, to inform client internal strategy and external campaigns.

  5. Earned Media & Brand Reputation Insights: Provide insights into digital and earned media trends and brand reputation to help clients increase visibility and strengthen their market position through data-informed strategy.

Qualifications

  1. Experience: 7-12 years of experience leading brand strategy and research teams from a top-tier communications agency or consulting firm. Extensive experience driving new business and building organic growth recommendations.

  2. PR/Brand Strategy Expertise: Proven experience in using innovative research tools to deliver relevant data-driven insights for client communications strategy, including audience journeys, positioning, and PR and media planning.

  3. Data & Analytical Expertise: Excels in both qualitative and quantitative research and consumer insights.

  4. New Business Acumen: Extensive experience in successfully leading business development efforts, helping shape pitches and strategies to acquire new clients. Offer a proven ability to drive new business with data-driven insights that influence brand decision-making.

  5. Earned & Social Media Leader: Authority in social and earned media platform behavior, including how to measure brand reputation and leverage media channels to enhance brand visibility.
