About the role
Gartner Analysts create insights, market predictions and best practices for leading organizations. A Senior Director in Business & Technology Insights leads content creation, drives client engagement through meetings, sales support, and conferences, and influences strategy through research.
What you will do
- Create innovative, thought provoking insights.
- Develop new ideas and actionable approaches to client needs.
- Analyze root causes of client barriers and reframe thinking to drive strategy.
- Establish research positions across an analyst team.
- Provide provocative insights to Gartner leaders.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts.
- Give clients actionable advice via virtual or face‑to‑face interactions.
- Create and deliver high‑value presentation materials for Gartner events and client briefings.
- Support research and sales alignment, provide sales support and peer review, and identify research process improvements.
- Mentor junior analysts and coach team members.
- Engage clients regularly to keep them connected to Gartner research.
What you will need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives.
- Strong organizational, research, writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in analyzing, synthesizing data, and defending conclusions.
- Excellent communication, able to explain complex concepts concisely.
- Subject matter expert comfortable with large speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of global competitive landscape in the subject area.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate cross‑functionally.
- Adaptability in highly matrixed environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Subject Matter Expertise
Apply in‑depth knowledge of cloud‑native security, vendor selection, deployment, and architectural best practices. Focus areas include:
- IaaS and PaaS native security capabilities of hyperscalers.
- IaaS and PaaS add‑on security solutions (e.g., CNAPP).
- SaaS general security capabilities and add‑on solutions.
- Cloud sovereignty and supporting security controls.
- The intersection of cloud security and GenAI/AI agents.
