About the role

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create essential research, make market predictions, and identify best practices for top organizations worldwide. A Senior Director leads within Gartner’s Research and Advisory sector, establishing credibility at local, regional, and global levels. Using exceptional research and analytical skills, they produce influential research that clients apply to achieve their business objectives. Analysts are trusted advisors, engaging clients through meetings, conferences, and support visits to address complex challenges and provide strategic recommendations.

What you will do

• Create innovative, highly leveraged research content within our Software Engineering Architecture & Development group for global technology leaders.
• Engage directly with clients, present at conferences, and participate in on-site client engagements, translating your vision for cloud-native and AI-native software design into actionable insights.
• Analyze client issues deeply to identify root causes and help reframe their thinking for better solutions.
• Research and predict technology and market trends to offer actionable insights.
• Create and deliver presentation materials for events, conferences, and client briefings.
• Support research and sales by providing market insights and driving client engagement.
• Build credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner’s research and methodology.
• Participate in research discussions, collaborate with peers, and review research outputs.
• Mentor and coach team members.
• Engage regularly with clients to promote Gartner research and interactions.

Preferred background: Experience in software engineering and product management, with deep expertise in Cloud Native development, Cloud Migration, and familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, APIs, microservices, and service mesh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related technologies.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies for software engineering.
• Leadership in agile product teams and expertise in software architecture.
• Ability to articulate technology adoption scenarios to senior leaders.
• Strong executive presence and communication skills.
• Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills.
• Analytical skills with data synthesis experience.
• Business acumen and understanding of market landscapes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
