Job summary

The Pokémon Company International is seeking a Sr. Direct Tax Lead to own U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance, ASC 740 accounting, and tax advisory. You will partner with finance, legal, and external advisors to manage complex tax issues and ensure accurate reporting.

In this role you will drive global tax initiatives, support audits, and lead process improvement across tax functions, including Pillar Two considerations and withholding tax obligations. Hybrid work available.

Qualifications

Eight (8)+ years of progressive direct tax experience across public accounting and corporate tax functions.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead U.S. federal, state, and local income tax compliance across jurisdictions.
Coordinate international tax compliance and global filings with advisors and regional stakeholders.
Lead tax provisions and ASC 740 accounting processes.
Own withholding tax compliance (Forms 1042, 1042-S, W-8).
Support global tax reporting requirements, Pillar Two and GIR filings.
Act as primary contact for audits, notices, examinations, and controversy matters.
Translate tax concepts into practical business recommendations for decision-makers.
Evaluate tax implications of M&A, restructurings, and new business models.
