Lutheran Senior Services in Webster Groves, MO is seeking a dining service supervisor responsible for training, supervising, and improving meal preparation and service, ensuring quality, sanitation, cost control, and scheduling. This role upholds the EverTrue mission and supports residents with culinary excellence.

You will develop menus, standard recipes, and Chef Specials, manage staffing, coordinate with front-of-house, and maintain equipment while driving QA and infection-control

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Culinary degree preferred.
• Culinary Arts Degree or food service certification preferred.
• Two years supervisory experience in a restaurant, healthcare/retirement facility or equivalent.
• A minimum three years of quality cooking or restaurant cooking experience.
• Training in cost control and food management preferred.
• Certification in food service sanitation required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to present information to groups.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provides training and follow-up of dining service staff to provide basic culinary skills and proper operation of equipment.
• Assists in planning and developing dining service department programs and activities including producing standard recipes, menus and Chef Specials.
• Ensures production amounts, supply chain, and food production meet the operation’s needs.
• Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the department.
• Collaborates with front-of-house to promote smooth processes.
• Maintains quality assurance with weekly sanitation checks and customer feedback collection.
• Assists with staffing needs, recruiting and scheduling.
• Ensures equipment is functional and stock levels are adequate.
• Serves on committees representing the food service department.
• Follows infection control procedures and safety protocols.
