Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking an Executive Chef to lead a full-service kitchen and dining staff, directing menu planning, food production, and quality control for an Independent Living community. This full-time salaried role reports to the Associate Director of Dining Services and requires strong leadership and operational oversight.

Ideal candidates have at least five years in dining and cooking, healthcare or restaurant experience, Serv-Safe certification, and the ability to pass a

Qualifications

• Experience with budget control and stock management.
• Strong supervisory skills.
• Flexibility with schedule and hours.
• Must enjoy working with the senior population.
• Must be able to pass a physical, background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily menus and recipes and manage multiple tasks.
• Directly supervise and train kitchen staff.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations ensuring high-quality food for an Independent Living community.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
• Assist with setup, service and cleanup of food production.
• Demonstrate ability to lift 5–20 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
