Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Luverne, MN is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support daily food service operations in a not-for-profit, Christian environment. Responsibilities include monitoring food temperatures, serving meals, restocking, and handling payments on a computerized register.

The role requires being on your feet, following HACCP guidelines, and delivering excellent customer service. Prior food service and cash-handling experience are preferred, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Previous customer service experience and knowledge of food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper food temperatures.
• Set up and maintain a clean, sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items; restock food areas.
• Operate cash registers and process payments using a computerized system.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Demonstrate good customer service and effective communication with patrons and co-workers.
