Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of the Digital Twin and drive engineering decisions. You will interface with IT and other teams supporting Transportation Management platforms, reporting to the Sr. Director of Solutions Engineering.

You will oversee the maintenance and interoperability of the Digital Twin, shape roadmaps, run project meetings, and ensure delivery of high-quality software with best practices across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Related Engineering.
• 7+ years experience in a corporate engineering or software development environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Python and SQL; proficiency in software engineering tools.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Ability to conduct software reviews and status updates with leadership.
• Ability to run project meetings (requirements & design).

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance of the Digital Twin and related technologies.
• Lead the interoperability of the Digital Twin and related data.
• Report on team/project performance KPIs.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
• Create and update quarterly roadmaps to review with internal and customer leadership.
• Organize and participate in project meetings that discuss scope, requirements, design, planning, and status.
• Apply analysis, design, coding, testing, upgrades, and production control best practices in a team environment.
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback.
• Ensure software is updated with latest features.
• Write well-designed, testable code.
• Develop software verification plans and QA procedures.
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
