Job summary

The J. M. Smucker Company in Topeka, KS is seeking a Lead Engineer, Digital Twin Systems to lead the Digital Twin initiative for PET. The initial focus is on the Topeka operation and expanding to other PET plants.

You will design, develop, and scale digital twins of manufacturing assets, processes, and systems, applying analytics to improve safety, quality, throughput, uptime, cost, and sustainability. This role requires strong collaboration across Operations, Engineering, and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, process engineering, operations, or industrial analytics.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment behavior, and operational KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional team to design and maintain digital twins representing physical assets, production lines, and end‑to‑end processes.
• Integrate historical and real‑time data into digital twin models.
• Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and optimization.
• Support pilot deployment, scale‑up, and replication of successful digital twin use cases across sites.
• Collaborate with IT/IS and controls teams to improve data pipelines and contextualization.
