Job summary

Aquent is partnering with a leading mobility company in San Francisco to advance industrial design for future autonomous vehicles. The role focuses on translating bold concepts into production-ready surface models, ensuring quality and manufacturability across development stages.

You will contribute to design reviews, mentor teammates, and apply advanced 3D modeling techniques to shape innovative vehicle and hardware designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design, transportation design, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in product design and engineering in automotive or similar complex product industries.
• Proficiency in industry-standard surfacing software and best practices for Class-A surfacing.
• Experience with advanced 3D modeling techniques, including subdivision modeling.
• Understanding of the product design development lifecycle and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality surface models from sketches to production surfacing.
• Assess feasibility, surface integrity, and manufacturing considerations with strategic recommendations.
• Deliver precise surface models within established project milestones and quality standards.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and presentations of surface models.
• Conduct and support surface quality evaluations.
