Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Lead Digital Modeler to join our electric vehicle design team. You will create high-fidelity 3D surface models of exterior and interior parts using Alias or ICEMsurf, guiding concepts from design to tooling release.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of automotive surfacing experience, strong knowledge of curvature analysis and GD&T, and a collaborative mindset to mentor others and ensure programs run on schedule.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of surfacing experience with ALIAS or ICEMsurf in a top-tier automotive environment.
• Expert-level, detail-oriented surface modeling with curvature analysis and material effects on A-Surface.
• Understanding of tooling design, sheet metal stamping, human factors, safety requirements, gaps and flushness.
• Solid grasp of 3DX.
• Highly organized with a positive attitude and want to help Lucid meet high standards.
• Degree or foreign equivalent in Automotive Design or Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create quality, accurate 3D Digital surface models of exterior and interior parts that communicate conceptual design intent using Alias or ICEMsurf.
• Develop properties from concept stage to production-ready quality for tooling release.
• Advise and suggest solutions to overcome design, engineering or GD&T issues and improve product appearance.
• Act as a mentor to other team members, helping them overcome issues and ensuring they consider all requirements for their parts.
• Attend meetings and reviews to understand and help solve issues and to ensure the program moves in a timely fashion.
• Maintain assembly files and ensure they are organized and labelled correctly for reviews.
