Job summary
Rocket Lab USA is seeking a Senior Digital Payload Engineer II based onsite in Long Beach, CA. The role focuses on developing new digital payload products including modems, processors, and network routers from concept through inflight operations, with a strong emphasis on RF/system design and PCB layout.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years in space electronics, expertise in high-speed interfaces, DSP, and SoC architecture, and is a U.S. citizen.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or other engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in space electronics with expertise in high-speed interfaces (SPI, PCIe, Ethernet).
- Experience delivering a digital product from requirements to production.
- Detailed knowledge of DSP algorithms and communication theory.
- U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain requirements specifications for digital payload products.
- Architect the digital product design and prototype with PCB layout considerations.
- Support development, test planning, and documentation including ICDs and user manuals.
- Collaborate with Test and Manufacturing Engineers to drive New Product Introduction.
- Provide technical support to internal/external customers and manage schedules.
