Job summary

HKA is seeking an experienced Digital Forensics Consultant to lead and support complex legal, regulatory, and investigative matters. This hands-on, client-facing role requires managing sensitive evidence and communicating findings to attorneys and stakeholders.

You will work across computers, mobile devices, cloud platforms, email systems, and other sources, combining defensible forensic work with practical guidance and ownership of client matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in digital forensics or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years in digital forensics, incident response, or eDiscovery.
• Hands-on evidence collection, preservation, and defensible analysis.
• Proficient with leading forensic tools listed above.
• Experience with cloud data sources and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct defensible forensic collections from multiple data sources.
• Lead or support on-site data collections at client facilities with travel.
• Preserve, verify, document, and transfer electronically stored information with chain of custody.
• Perform forensic examinations for litigation, regulatory, or investigations.
• Use industry tools to identify, recover, and report on evidence.
• Document processes and findings clearly and defensibly.
• Prepare technical reports and investigation summaries for clients.
• Process and load data into Relativity; support eDiscovery activities.
• Collaborate with attorneys, investigators, and technical specialists.
• Identify risks and data gaps; propose practical solutions.
• Stay current with digital forensics tools and best practices.
• Manage tasks across matters and meet deadlines with quality controls.
