Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a Senior Staff Field Applications Engineer - Digital in the United States. You will drive design-in activities for automotive MCU/SoC products and define new solutions with OEM customer teams, acting as the main technical interface across engineering and marketing.

You will collaborate on system architectures, enable cross-functional product roadmaps, and lead lab measurements, demonstrations, and technical seminars to showcase Renesas automotive technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar field.
• 8+ years of related work experience with automotive applications.
• Experience as Field or Application Engineer for MCUs/SoCs is preferred.
• Understanding automotive system requirements and proposing optimized products.
• Knowledge of semiconductors including SoCs, MCUs, Analog & Power.
• Experience with OS/frameworks (Linux, QNX, AUTOSAR, RTOS).
• Proficient in multi-threaded programming and IPC/OS concepts.
• Knowledge of Automotive Functional Safety and Cybersecurity concepts.

Responsibilities

• Drive design-in activities for automotive product portfolio (IVI, ADAS, xEV, vehicle controls).
• Define new products with customers and internal teams.
• Act as technical interface and consult during development of automotive apps.
• Collaborate with product marketers and engineers to define roadmaps.
• Lead technical discussions with system architects and engineers.
• Develop documentation and system demonstrators combining software and hardware.
• Perform measurements in lab for customer projects.
