Job summary

The Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB) in Florida seeks a Historian/Archivist to preserve, organize, document, digitize, and maintain the historical records of OCB, including Radio Martí, TV Martí, and related digital content. The role supports the archival database, ensures accurate descriptions, metadata, and accessibility for institutional purposes.

The position requires collaboration with leadership and staff to verify information, organize project folders, and apply archival standards.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English required; experience working across cultures is a plus.
• Proven ability to conduct research and present findings concisely to non-research audiences.
• Experience with archival research and records management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and document historically significant OCB content across radio and TV Martí.
• Maintain and update archival database with accurate metadata and descriptions.
• Review digitization work for consistency with archival standards and descriptions.
• Maintain revision logs for database entries and ensure version control.
• Assist in organizing, archiving, and digitizing content from Agency repositories.
• Develop descriptions, inventories, and tags to aid retrieval of historical materials.
• Coordinate with leadership and staff to verify information and ensure completeness of archival records.
• Identify significant broadcasts and milestones for inclusion in the archive.
