Are you passionate about data, customer experience, and continuous improvement? Join Air New Zealand as a Senior Digital Analyst – CRO & Optimisation and help shape our future to become the world’s leading digital airline. This role combines deep analytics expertise with a strong commercial and customer focus, using experimentation and AI-driven insights to optimise digital experiences and drive business performance.

Embedded in a cross-functional squad, you’ll play a key role in accelerating a data-led culture and enabling strategic decisions through actionable insights and rigorous testing.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Analytics

  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of GA4, Google Tag Manager, and scalable tagging strategies.

  • Develop complex SQL queries across large datasets in BigQuery; create views for stakeholder dashboards and performance reporting.

  • Build dashboards in Looker Studio (or similar) to deliver real-time visibility into digital performance and experiments.

  • Ensure data quality and compliance through routine audits, robust dataLayer architecture, and privacy-first practices.

  • Stay ahead of AI-powered analytics techniques and recommend tools or methods that elevate the analytics function.

CRO & Experimentation

  • Evolve the CRO strategy across Air New Zealand’s digital channels.

  • Design and analyse A/B and multivariate tests using platforms such as Optimizely or Adobe Target.

  • Collaborate with UX, design, and product teams to test and optimise key user journeys, content, and interface elements.

  • Translate data into hypotheses, build structured test roadmaps, and integrate CRO performance into wider business reporting.

  • Educate teams across Commercial, Customer, and Loyalty on experimentation practices and data interpretation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years in digital analytics or CRO roles, ideally within eCommerce or performance-focused environments.

  • Proven success using experimentation to grow conversions or other key metrics.

  • Advanced knowledge of GA4, BigQuery, GTM, and A/B testing platforms.

  • Strong SQL skills, including performance-optimised queries, data pipelines, and dashboard integration.

  • Experience in designing and implementing robust tracking strategies, including cross-domain and server-side setups.

  • Strong grasp of design principles, user psychology, and interpretation of behavioural signals.

  • Familiarity with AI-driven analytics or personalisation tools.

  • Exceptional communicator and data storyteller – able to influence stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

  • Growth mindset with a passion for detail, experimentation, and innovation.
