Job summary

Schneider National in Kent, WA is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician to make safety-first repair decisions on company tractors. You will perform tractor estimations, diagnoses and corrections, and complete routine rebuilds and replacements.

The role requires a technical degree in diesel technology, at least two years of experience, and proficiency with diagnostic software and Detroit engines. Strong communication and owning tools within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field.
• Minimum of two years of diesel technician experience.
• Knowledge of diagnostic software, Detroit engines and after treatment repairs.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, annual vehicle inspections, component replacements and other repairs on tractors.
• Complete inspections, diagnosis and work estimations.
• Communicate status updates with internal customers.
