Job summary

Carver Companies in New York is seeking a Diesel Technician III to perform advanced diagnostics, major component repairs, and field service support as a technical leader in the shop. You will lead complex repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, and after-treatment systems, run OEM diagnostics, mentor junior technicians, and ensure DOT inspections and proper documentation in MC/E360.

Qualifications

5-8 years of experience in heavy-duty truck diagnostics and repair.
Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to obtain CDL-A.
Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, after-treatment systems, and diagnostics.
Inspector's License (or ability to obtain within timeframe).
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in active shop environments.

Responsibilities

Perform complex repairs and replacements of engines, transmissions, and differentials.
Lead advanced diagnostic efforts using OEM software.
Troubleshoot and repair after-treatment systems and electrical control components.
Conduct DOT compliance inspections and certify completed repairs.
Train, mentor, and support the development of Technician I and II team members.
Provide input on maintenance scheduling, equipment reliability, and cost trends.
Collaborate with the Equipment Services & Fabrication Manager to control repair costs and minimize downtime.
Support field service operations, including emergency roadside repairs as needed.
