Job summary

Kenworth of Louisiana, LLC is seeking a Technician Class B to diagnose and repair vehicle components with minimal supervision. The role demands advanced technical expertise and independence, ensuring vehicles meet high dealership standards.

Responsibilities include performing repairs per OEM guidelines, coordinating with parts, documenting work, and mentoring apprentices. CDL preferred; strong safety and efficiency expectations apply in a non-climate-controlled shop.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Diesel school; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnoses cause most malfunctions and perform repairs per OEM guidelines
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
• Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Supervises work of any apprentice technician as assigned
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Attends and completes all company training as assigned
• Maintains 85% efficiency or higher
• Other duties as assigned

Education

Degree from an accredited Diesel school
