Job summary

Kenworth of Louisiana, LLC is seeking a Technician Class B to diagnose and repair most vehicle components with minimal supervision in a dealership setting. The role requires high technical expertise and independence, contributing to service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The Technician Class B will perform repairs per OEM guidelines, communicate with parts and service teams, supervise apprentices, and maintain tools and dealership equipment in a safe, compliant manner.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Diesel school; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OEM Certifications Preferred
• Must have a valid Driver License (CDL Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnoses cause most malfunctions and perform repairs per OEM guidelines
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
• Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Supervises work of any apprentice technician as assigned
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Attends and completes all company training as assigned
• Maintains 85% efficiency or higher
• Other duties as assigned
