Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional diesel mechanic experience; 7+ years preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical and emissions systems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose complex issues.
• Experience with major diesel engine repairs and transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC.
• Ability to use diagnostic software, wiring diagrams and technical manuals; document repairs clearly.
• Must have personal hand tools and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel, electrical, emissions, and drivability issues.
• Perform major engine repairs and service transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, and HVAC.
• Use diagnostic software and service information to identify root causes.
• Diagnose CAN bus, EGR, DPF, and SCR system concerns.
• Document findings, repairs, parts used, and recommended actions.
• Complete work safely and per manufacturer specifications; maintain clean workspace.
