Job summary

Dobbs Peterbilt is seeking a Journeyman Diesel Technician to perform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on heavy‑duty trucks. This hands‑on role requires independent work, leadership of shop technicians, and adherence to safety standards.

You will diagnose electrical, aftertreatment, and performance systems while guiding apprentices and documenting repairs to ensure quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• 12 years of mechanical experience on heavy‑duty trucks or equipment.
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical repairs.
• Required tool set.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on heavy‑duty trucks.
• Perform major repairs on engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
• Oversee advanced preventative maintenance and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians; document repairs accurately.
