Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group. A Diesel Service Journeyman/Mechanic is needed to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision.

Safety-sensitive position with responsibilities including troubleshooting, training apprentices, and maintaining customer relations. The role requires CDL, various certifications, and at least 4 years of experience or vocational training.

Qualifications

• CDL required.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications.
• Must have at least one specialization (engine, drive train).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience or vocational training.
• Personal tools required to perform the position.
• Strong customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment with minimum supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on major problems.
• Works with and helps train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers.
• Participates in training to stay abreast of new technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
