Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic in White Plains, MD, on-site at our hauling site. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and related equipment, with a 5am start and Monday–Friday schedule (possible rotating Saturday).

Starting pay ranges from $30 to $45 per hour, with tool and boot allowances, comprehensive health coverage, and a company-matched 401(k). Education assistance and adoption support are also available.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for repairs and parts.
• Work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain safe work area per OSHA standards and document repairs and parts usage.
• Assist senior Mechanics on project work.
