Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to provide service and repair to our customers' fleets via assigned trucks and equipment, while maintaining exceptional customer service.

The role involves overhauling gas or diesel engines, installing essential components, and performing thorough inspections to ensure quality workmanship. A minimum of high school education and dealership exp is required, with CDL and ASE credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or equivalent.
• CDL and Medical card preferred but not required.
• Current and valid driver license (DMV-driven insurability) required.
• ASE certifications preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Conduct cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments.
• Install parts with manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, and reconditioning.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Read job orders and determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lubricate parts and drive vehicle to verify conformity to specs.
