Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Equipment Technician to service electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engines on construction equipment. You will dismantle, rebuild, fabricate parts, diagnose complex problems, and perform preventive maintenance in shop or field settings.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of technician experience with diesel/heavy equipment, a high school diploma or GED, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, safety‑conscious

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Technician experience with diesel/heavy equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
• Must possess a high degree of safety-awareness.
• Working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Services and oversees major electrical, hydraulic and/or diesel engine repairs of all types of construction equipment as required to ensure proper working condition when leaving the shop.
• Dismantles and reassembles/rebuilds equipment
• Fabricates parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems
• Performs check-ins and safety inspections and assists other equipment Technicians with general shop and equipment maintenance as needed
• Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and down time in the field or other remote settings
• Maintain safe work environment and perform duties in accordance with safety standards
