Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Scientist, R&D to join our growing laboratory organization. This individual contributor will report to the Director of R&D and work to develop and validate diagnostic assays for traditional and at‑home testing programs, guiding implementation into clinical operations.

The ideal candidate is bench‑strong with experience across the full assay development lifecycle, thrives in a fast‑moving environment, and will be based on-site in Central New Jersey.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master/Bachelor with bench experience in diagnostic/clinical labs
• Hands-on immunoassay development experience including multiplex formats
• Experience with LC‑MS/MS method validation and sample prep
• DOE and statistical methods applied to assay development
• Ability to lead validation/verification studies
• Experience with capillary and venous specimens

Responsibilities

• Design and execute immunoassay development studies (ELISA, chemiluminescent, multiplex)
• Perform method validation experiments per protocols and regulatory standards
• Apply DOE and statistics to optimize assays and troubleshoot
• Support LC‑MS/MS method development and validation for clinical analytes
• Develop SOPs and create validation reports for regulatory readiness
• Analyze data and prepare figures and technical summaries
• Collaborate with Quality to meet CAP/CLIA requirements
• Lead assays transfer and implementation with operations
