Responsibilities

• Major duties include ultrasound examinations in a hospital setting across abdominal, vascular, soft-tissue, and specialty exams.
• Position and align patients; set up and adjust ultrasound equipment; manipulate transducers to acquire diagnostic images.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy to obtain pertinent views; adjust imaging factors; select transducers as needed.
• Interview patients for history and procedures; explain procedures to radiologists; modify for age and conditions.
• Perform examinations in department and portable settings; work off-hours as needed.
• Coordinate daily workflow; maintain logs and records; ensure proper data entry in CPRS.
• Maintain supplies; coordinate with SPD; participate in quality improvement and safety protocols.
• Educate and train ultrasound staff and students; stay updated with new technologies.
