Job summary

QuidelOrtho seeks a Senior Product Development Engineer to advance point-of-care diagnostics. You will lead new product development, support on-market activities, instrument integration, and validation, with onsite work at our San Diego Summers Ridge location.

The role emphasizes design-to-manufacturing transfer, technology validation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product launches. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience developing consumable diagnostic tests.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and make risk-based technical decisions.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and transfers new products into manufacturing.
• Communicates project status and resource constraints to leadership.
• Writes validation protocols and maintains documentation notebooks.
• Collaborates with R&D to integrate diagnostics with instrumentation.
• Ensures processes are robust, scalable, and cost effective.
