Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior DFx Engineer to drive design for manufacturability, assembly, and cost across avionics, electronics, wiring, and harnessing. You will collaborate with ME/DE, supply chain, and quality to optimize producibility and supplier readiness.

The role emphasizes evaluating producibility, cost drivers, and DSx requirements while supporting contract manufacturers and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in manufacturing or DFx focusing on electronics, avionics, wiring, or harnessing.
• Experience with DFM/ DFA reviews and cost-improvement actions.
• Experience evaluating contract manufacturers and supplier qualification.
• Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and harness drawings for cost impacts.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and qualification decisions.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute DFx analysis across avionics, electronics, wiring and harnessing with focus on manufacturability, assembly and cost.
• Lead DFM/DFA/DFC reviews at key milestones, scoring producibility risks and guiding design changes.
• Collaborate with SME engineers to translate manufacturability constraints into feedback and design trades.
• Assist in selecting and qualifying contract manufacturers against DFx requirements.
• Participate in supplier assessments including facility reviews and process audits.
• Develop should-cost models and cost-driver analyses for electronics and harnessing.
• Develop DFx standards, guidelines and scorecards for electronics manufacturing.
• Analyze designs for manufacturability, cost, specs, process capability, technology maturity.
• Work with supply chain to align DFx with sourcing strategy.
• Collaborate with quality to ensure findings flow into inspection and supplier quality.
• Close loop between production feedback and upstream design improvements.
• Contribute to the DFx toolkit and training materials.
• Travel to production sites (~20%).
