Job summary

Apogee is seeking a Software Engineer to work remotely or in Omaha, NE, supporting the AFLCMC Weather Systems Branch. This full‑time role will be located at Offutt AFB, NE and involve integration with DoD programs.

You will provide DevSecOps guidance across the SDLC, ensure secure software delivery, and align engineering work with government requirements.

The position requires US citizenship, a Secret clearance, and a Bachelor's degree, with extensive DoD experience.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
• Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience to include: 5+ years supporting the DoW

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on the design, architecture, and maintenance of secure software solutions delivered by development partners.
• Govern DevSecOps implementation, ensuring automated security testing, code scanning, and vulnerability management are properly integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Advise and guide agile teams in translating high-level government requirements into robust technical designs and user stories.
• Evaluate and review automated build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning strategies to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Apply systems engineering principles to analyze requirements, evaluate architecture feasibility, and advise government stakeholders on technical risks and tool selection.
• Serve as the technical liaison between government lead engineers, users, stakeholders, and development teams to ensure iterative value delivery.
• Participate in agile ceremonies to provide strategic engineering oversight and drive continuous DevSecOps process improvements.
