Job summary

TIAG seeks an experienced software engineer to join our San Diego team as a key technical authority for design, development, and modernization of mission-critical applications. You will own architecting and implementing full-stack containerized solutions, deploying pipelines, and ensuring security compliance across enterprise environments in a hybrid model with occasional onsite support in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in full-lifecycle software engineering, application architecture, and systems development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building, optimizing, and debugging containerized applications using Docker and Dockerfiles.
• 3+ years of direct experience deploying and orchestrating microservices on Kubernetes clusters, including health monitoring and workload troubleshooting.
• 5+ years of experience building, operating, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Linux environments, shell navigation, system administration, and deployment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable, high-performance software applications and microservices using Python and Linux workflows.
• Build and optimize containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes for high availability and scalable workloads.
• Design and operate automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions to accelerate reliable software delivery.
• Manage application release deployments using Helm charts and templating for consistent cluster configuration.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices across the development lifecycle with container scanning and vulnerability remediation (Trivy, Grype, SonarQube).
• Query and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) for efficient data persistence and performance.
• Harden software, containers, and environments per DISA STIG security controls and compliance standards.
