Job summary

Northstrat is seeking aSeniorDevSecOps Engineer IV to support and upgrade the RMT global architecture, enabling a cloud-native ecosystem for a USSF mission-critical environment. You will manage OTA deployments, secure the stack, and optimize Kubernetes on AWS while integrating with Harbor, Nexus, and various CI/CD tools.

The role requires 7+ years in DevOps/DevSecOps, active TS/SCI clearance, and deep scripting with Python/Bash.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure, or DevSecOps in a cloud environment.
• Active or current TS/SCI US government clearance.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting for automation.
• Deploying software packages to remote operational systems.
• Strong Linux/Unix command line proficiency, preferably on RHEL-based systems.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Helm.
• Strong proficiency with Docker — writing Dockerfiles, building hardened images, and integrating builds into pipelines.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience — cluster operations, workload management, RBAC, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and distributed teams.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate OTA software deployments to globally fielded systems in DDIL environments.
• Architect scalable Kubernetes infrastructure on AWS with high availability.
• Build and refine CI/CD pipelines across security domains.
• Integrate automated security scanning and enforce government standards.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance across cloud and container environments.
• Develop features to automate, scale, test, and secure a Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
• Build and maintain hardened Docker images with STIG guidance and integrate with Harbor and CI/CD.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
• Ensure DevSecOps practices comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
