Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our growing practice, delivering cloud and application development features. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of cloud and DevSecOps experience, with strong automation, CI/CD, and security testing skills.

You will automate release processes, implement containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and contribute to cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. A clearance may be required for federal work.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
• 5 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• 5 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
• 5 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
• 5 Years of application DevSecOps Experience in Agile environments
• 3 Years of Experience implementing docker containers and Kubernetes
• 5 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration
• 5 Years of Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI
• 5 Years of Experience integrating deployments with DevSecOps tooling and orchestration
• Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD Pipelines

Responsibilities

• Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
• Understanding stakeholder needs and translating them to developers
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
• Test and examine code written by others and analyze results
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop fixes
• Collaborate with developers to ensure processes are followed
• Support cloud apps or infra via infrastructure as code and automated configs
• Document current environment and present options and recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to modernize systems
• Mentor team members and provide guidance
• Propose continuous improvement for services
• Present status updates and cross-train the DevOps team
