Job summary

Kratos Space Training & Cyber is seeking a Sr. DevSecOps Engineer to own build and release pipelines for multiple development teams.

You will drive GitLab administration, code signing, and toolchain automation across AWS, Azure, and OpenStack environments, coordinating with security and development teams to mature self-service capabilities. The role requires strong scripting (Bash/Python), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and experience with Nexus/JFrog platforms, SBOM generation,

Qualifications

• Experience with build pipeline automation and package tools (GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube).
• Knowledge of security tools in automated pipelines (Hashicorp Vault, code/container signing, CVE scanning, SBOM generation, JFrog XRay, Syft/Grype).
• Scripting/Coding using Bash, Python.
• Familiarity with package managers (npm, Conan, NuGet, Maven, Gradle).
• General knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher.
• Cloud knowledge in AWS, Azure, OpenStack.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence or similar tools.
• Build pipeline automation with Bamboo, Bitbucket, Sonatype Nexus.
• Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and automate build and release pipelines across multiple development teams.
• Develop, analyzes, and maintains tools supporting hardware/software product releases.
• Write installation scripts for product installation.
• Coordinate build schedules and initiate build and packaging processes.
• Ensure tools are stored in source control and support software packaging/delivery.
• Assist developers with software package registry and delivery.
• Collaborate to implement process improvements and fix build issues.

Initially the support will be iwhite glove as we work to mature our development organization and establish refined templates with the goal of moving to self-service in support of our development community.

The Sr. DevSecOps Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• GitLab administration and configuration experience
• Code and Container Signing
• Develops, analyzes, and maintains tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.
• Writes installation scripts and programs for installation of products.
• Works with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiate the build and packaging process.
• Compiles and assembles software from source code.
• Ensures tools are stored in source control.
• Supports developers for software package registry and delivery.
• Works with others to complete analysis, evaluations, and design alternatives and to implement process improvements.
• Works with development engineers to correct build errors.

Required Experience

• Experience with build pipeline automation and package tools such as GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, etc
• Knowledge of and experience with security tools in automated pipelines such as Hashicorp Vault, code/container signing, CVE scanning, SBOM generation, JFrog XRay, Syft/Grype, etc
• Scripting/Coding using Bash, Python, etc.
• Familiarity with package managers such as npm, Conan, NuGet, Maven and Gradle
• General knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
• General cloud knowledge in AWS, Azure, and OpenStack
• Familiarity with working in an Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as JIRA and Confluence or some other similar collaboration tools
• Build pipeline automation using tools such as Atlassian Bamboo, Atlassian Bitbucket and Sonatype Nexus
• Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Monitor/Dashboarding experience using tools such as Grafana and Graphite
• Expert cloud knowledge in AWS, Azure, and OpenStack
• Knowledge of AWS CloudHSM
• Expert knowledge of security concepts including code and container signing
• Security clearance

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education. Salary Range: $120,000-$180,000
