Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Sr. DevSecOps Engineer to own and optimize the build and deploy pipelines for multiple teams. The role focuses on automation, packaging, and secure software delivery across the project.

The candidate will work within the Build Automation team, maturing templates for self-service and supporting development communities. Hybrid work in Colorado Springs is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with build pipeline automation and tools like GitLab, Artifactory, and SonarQube.
• Knowledge of security tools in automated pipelines (Hashicorp Vault, CVE scanning, SBOM generation).
• Familiarity with package managers (npm, Conan, NuGet, Maven, Gradle).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
• Experience in an Agile environment using JIRA/Confluence.
• Build pipeline automation with Bamboo/Bitbucket/Nexus.

Responsibilities

• Focus on build and deploy pipelines for multiple development teams across the project.
• Provide white-glove initial support while maturing templates for self-service deployment.
• Assist with signing and securing code and containers in CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with project teams to plan build schedules and packaging processes.
• Troubleshoot build errors and ensure artifacts are stored in source control.

Job Description

As part of the Build Automation team, the Sr. DevSecOps Engineer will focus on the build and deploy pipelines for multiple development teams across the project. Initially the support will be “white glove” as we work to mature our development organization and establish refined templates with the goal of moving to self-service in support of our development community.

The Sr. DevSecOps Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• GitLab administration and configuration experience
• Code and Container Signing
• Develops, analyzes, and maintains tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.
• Writes installation scripts and programs for installation of products.
• Works with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiate the build and packaging process.
• Compiles and assembles software from source code.
• Ensures tools are stored in source control.
• Supports developers for software package registry and delivery.
• Works with others to complete analysis, evaluations, and design alternatives and to implement process improvements.
• Works with development engineers to correct build errors.

Experience and Skills

• Experience with build pipeline automation and package tools such as GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, etc
• Knowledge of and experience with security tools in automated pipelines such as Hashicorp Vault, code/container signing, CVE scanning, SBOM generation, JFrog XRay, Syft/Grype, etc
• Familiarity with package managers such as npm, Conan, NuGet, Maven and Gradle
• General knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
• General cloud knowledge in AWS, Azure, and OpenStack
• Familiarity with working in an Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as JIRA and Confluence or some other similar collaboration tools
• Build pipeline automation using tools such as Atlassian Bamboo, Atlassian Bitbucket and Sonatype Nexus
• Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Monitor/Dashboarding experience using tools such as Grafana and Graphite
• Expert cloud knowledge in AWS, Azure, and OpenStack
• Knowledge of AWS CloudHSM
• Expert knowledge of security concepts including code and container signing
• Security clearance

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education

Salary Range: $120,000-$180,000
