Job summary

CTAC in Falls Church, VA is seeking a SME DevOps Engineer to support a government contract. The role treats operations issues as software problems, with a focus on automations, monitoring, logging, and CI/CD across on-premises, cloud, and PaaS environments.

You will work in a hybrid in-person/remote setting, coordinating with cross-functional teams. Primary duties include AWS cloud work, infrastructure as code, and Identity Management (Okta-based).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of development and operations experience, preferably for government systems.
• Experience with at least one programming language and multiple scripting languages.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, monitoring, and incident response.
• Ability to document technical processes and architectures clearly.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience managing Linux and Windows servers in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and maintenance of applications on-premises and in the cloud.
• Develop automated tooling and scripts to reduce manual effort.
• Improve processes, reduce technical debt, and increase visibility and monitoring.
• Assist in debugging applications, databases, and middleware using AI tools.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and notification for cloud and on-prem apps.
• Develop cloud-first apps, infrastructure-as-code, and tooling to improve processes.
• Support Identity Management Systems at federal client (Okta-based).
